Join us at the annual Lumiere Gala, happening on Friday, May 17th, 2024, from 6 pm to 9 pm at the Bridgeport Art Center, located at 1200 W 35th Street, Chicago, IL 60609.
Formerly the Fleur de Lis Ball, our new name, “Lumiere,” pays tribute to the legacy of the Daughters of Charity who established the Marillac Social Center in 1914 and the St. Vincent de Paul Center in 1915 in Chicago. “Lumiere” translates to “light” in French, symbolizing the “vision of light” experienced by St. Louise de Marillac in 1623 when she was called by God to devote her life to those in need. This led to the establishment of the Daughters of Charity in 1633 by St. Louise de Marillac and St. Vincent de Paul in Paris, France.
Join us as we honor Marillac St. Vincent and present the Luminary Award and the Sr. Katie Norris Visionary Award.
