Senior Service Programming at MSV
Marillac St. Vincent is committed to empowering seniors in Chicago through programs and services that improve their quality of life. We accomplish this by offering intensive supports to at-risk seniors, community-based case management, food delivery and friendly visiting to mobility-limited seniors, and monthly enrichment meetings for able seniors.
Intensive Case Advocacy & Support (ICAS) Program
Sponsored by a generous grant from the City of Chicago Department of Family and Support Services and HUD, Marillac St. Vincent provides comprehensive supportive services to at-risk, self-neglectful seniors throughout Chicago to ensure safety, stability and the ability to successfully age in place.
Community-Based Case Management
We offer individualized assessment, person-centered planning, care coordination, advocacy for vulnerable seniors who need support with obtaining resources, accessing food and meals, learning about financial management, and more.
**This program has very limited capacity and as of Spring 2022 is currently not accepting new clients.
Companion Services
We can connect clients to companion services to alleviate isolation and loneliness for seniors who lack other social supports. These services are provided by other seniors who have been trained to provide friendly visiting, and volunteer visiting companions.
Take Charge
We provide a safe and nurturing environment for mobile, active seniors on the West Side to meet each month. Take Charge meetings offer socialization, sharing a meal, and educational experiences through speakers. The Take Charge day trips offer enriching opportunities such as a boat cruise or museum visit.
Home Delivery Program
We work to stabilize West Side seniors who have limited mobility and often live alone. Over 70 seniors who are on low, fixed incomes receive regular phone calls, well-being checks, and monthly groceries that often includes fresh produce and meat. Seniors who receive home deliveries also receive help accessing utility assistance and other public benefits as needed. These safeguards help vulnerable older adults safely remain in their homes while staying connected to the community.
Our Home Delivery service boundaries are currently focused on serving the areas near our West Side location. The boundaries are as follows:
East to Racine, West to the City limits
North to Bloomingdale, South to Cermak
We are unable to serve seniors living outside of the above boundaries and we are unable to make emergency deliveries.
Our Home Delivery program is often at capacity, but we do maintain a waitlist. For more information on the Home Delivery Program and to determine if you might be eligible for the program, please call 773-584-3241.

Client Story
Mrs. Hughes is one of the seniors we serve on the West Side Throughout her life she was actively making a difference and blossoming as an individual. This changed when she was diagnosed with cancer
Thanks to her doctors and a healthy lifestyle, she is now a cancer survivor. Because of her compromised immune system, leaving the house during the pandemic was not an option and finding healthy food options was a challenge.
She remembered a positive experience she had with MSV many years ago and called for assistance. By reaching out to MSV, she was able to help herself and her neighbors.
A note from Mrs. Hughes…
I have fond memories growing up in Chicago when I moved from Mississippi as a teenager. My mother and father were the best role models a girl could have ever asked for
I loved school and used to work downtown. In fact, I used to pass Marillac on my way to work when they were in their old building. I learned more about Marillac over 20 years ago when my friend dropped her daughter off for programs.
When the pandemic started, I reached out to them to see if they could help me with food. Sister Kathy delivered the first box and was so friendly. Her smile is contagious. She is always concerned about my health as I’m a cancer survivor. She makes sure I am going to my doctor appointments and she even tells me about the food I’m getting because I need to be eating healthy.
I introduced my neighbors and sister to the food delivery program for seniors and now they get the food they need. Marillac has caring people and help with whatever they have. Thank you to Sister Kathy, Hilary, and those who help Marillac Family Services.
