On May 21st, the Marillac St. Vincent Associate Board hosted its 4th annual Career Day for youth in MSV’s School-Age and Hope Junior programs. Thirty-four young people attended the morning-long event to hear 12 young professionals share about their career journeys and offer words of encouragement for the students’ own life goals. Speakers ranged from medical and law professions to entrepreneurs, personal services, marketing and real estate. Moderators led the panels through some standard questions, and then the students were able to ask their own questions of the guests. The day concluded with an uplifting spoken word performance by After School Matters participants.
MSV is grateful to the Associate Board—especially Ari Williams who oversees Programs & Volunteering, and Latoya Winters, AB President—for planning and hosting the event, and to the speakers who inspired our young people with their stories of challenge, determination, positivity, and success.
We were also excited for a few local news agencies that came by to showcase our Career Fair. Watch the videos and read the articles from ABC 7 News and WGN 9 News.
