UChicago Medicine’s Prenatal & Family Classes

The University of Chicago School of Medicine provides a wide variety of online prenatal and family events and courses ranging from labor preparation, to breastfeeding basics, to infant massage classes.

Family Connects Chicago

In-home visits by appointment

Family Connects Chicago is a free in-home nurse service provided by the Chicago Department of Public Health, available to Chicago families with newborns. A registered nurse will visit your home after birth to check on you and your child.

WIC is a food assistance program for women,infants, and children that provides cash assistance for healthy foods, information about health, and access to healthcare providers.

Planned Parenthood Pregnancy Resources

Chicago Planned Parenthood Offices

Sunday - Tuesday CLOSED Wednesday 9:45 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thursday - Saturday 7:45 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Planned Parenthood provides a variety of pregnancy-related services including fertility services and prenatal care.

Specific programs include pregnancy testing, fertility awareness education, prenatal services, childbirth classes, or postpartum depression exams.

Child Care Assistance Program

Child Care Assistance Centers

The Illinois Department of Human Services' Child Care Assistance Program and your local Child Care Resource and Referral agency are joining forces to support families by providing care to children ages 0 - 13, or 0 - 19 if the child has documented special needs.

Marillac St. Vincent's Project Hope

MSV's Project Hope is a comprehensive program for pregnant and parenting girls and young women ages 12-25 that addresses the many needs of mothers in Chicago. We empower girls and young women to work towards self-sufficiency, care for their child, and build a positive future for their family.

Project Hope offers a variety of services including:

Prenatal and parenting groups that focus on the relationship between mother and baby

Regular home visits before and after the birth of the child

Doula birthing services that support young mothers during labor and delivery

Referrals to schools, housing, health agencies, job training and recreational activities

Developmental assessments and infant mental health services for newborns
