Alissa Schiada: A Passion for Direct Impact

Staff Spotlight: Alissa Schiada

What is your role at MSV?

Development Services Manager

Where are you from originally?

I am from West Chicago, Illinois.

Can you describe the work you’re doing at MSV?

I am working on updating/maintaining the Raisers Edge database and developing a broader research program. I will also be supporting the Development staff on other projects involving stewardship and event reporting.

How did you get into your field of work?

I started in Development in my early 20's. My career began in a home health & hospice in the northern suburbs.

What drew you to MSV?

I was looking for a social service agency that had a direct impact on the community. I am passionate about helping others and MSV felt like the right fit.

Why is this work important?

It's important to remember that everyone needs to be supported and cared for. Each of us has a story and our work supports those in need.

Why is Marillac St. Vincent’s mission important to you?

The mission has such a strong message. I thinking supporting those, that perhaps cannot support themselves, is extremely important.

What is your favorite food?

I love anything with Peanut Butter. Reese's are a favorite. Favorite meals are Chicken Carbonera, Taco's and Pizza.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love to cook, go the movies or see a play. I also love trying new restaurants.
