For Pregnant and Parenting Girls and Young Women

Project Hope is a comprehensive program for pregnant and parenting girls and young women ages 12-25 that addresses the many needs of mothers in Chicago.

We empower girls and young women to work towards self-sufficiency, care for their child, and build a positive future for their family.

Our Services at a Glance:

  • Prenatal and parenting groups that focus on the relationship between mother and baby.
  • Regular home visits before and after the birth of the child.
  • Doula birthing services that support young mothers during labor and delivery.
  • Referrals to schools, housing, health agencies, job training and recreational activities.
  • Developmental assessments and infant mental health services for newborns.

Program Highlights:

  • 100% of Doula birthing assistance participants had a birth plan prepared prior to giving birth
  • 90% of expecting mothers had Doula-attended births

Who is Eligible?

Participants must be residents of Chicago’s West Side, age 12-25 at intake, with priority given to first-time pregnancies.

Meeting Times

  • Prenatal group every Tuesday, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
  • Parenting group every Wednesday, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
