Marillac St. Vincent and Weber-Stephen Products of Palatine, IL have enjoyed a long partnership over the years. Among other things, this includes an annual holiday party for the children of Marillac St. Vincent, hosted by Weber-Stephen. On December 7th, 2018 the festive event took place at Altitude, an indoor trampoline park in Skokie. The park features a trapeze swing, trampoline basketball, foam pit, and an extreme dodgeball court. MSV and Weber-Stephen transported 120 school-age kids from the Marillac Social Center to Altitude for a full day of fun and adventure.
As always, many Weber-Stephen employees volunteered their time and energy, sharing in on the fun and coordinating meals with the kids. Lexy Fricano, Global Marketing Manager for Weber Grills, says their staff looks forward to the event every year and volunteer positions fill up within minutes of being posted. She went on to describe why volunteering with Marillac St. Vincent is so important, “We always say at Weber, we’ve got your back not just your backyard, and you guys are literally in our backyard. It’s always nice to support your local community.”
Later in the day, Santa and Mrs. Claus stopped by to read a Christmas poem and hand out presents to every child. Soon enough, the kids were back on the trampolines, jumping to their heart’s content. The day of playing, pizza, and holiday gifts will be one to remember.
Thank you to the wonderful team of volunteers from Weber Grills who made the day so special for the children of Marillac St. Vincent and to the Stephen family for their generosity. For the Marillac staff who attended that day, it was easy to see how impactful the event was for every kid in attendance.
