Marillac St. Vincent hosted its annual Martin Luther King Junior Arts and Literacy Peace Fair on January 13, 2018. This was a community event that emphasized our collective wish for peace and unity. 42 children came out to play games, get their face painted, and create arts & crafts.
The effect of the peace fair was evident for the youth in attendance. Deanna Hallagan, Marillac St. Vincent’s Hope Junior Program Manager, stated that the she hopes that the sincere conversations the children had in the peace circle will resonate with them and it will reflect in the community.
This event would not be possible without the tremendous amount of help we received from volunteers. We would like to especially thank students from DePaul’s College of Law for helping with this event.
