MSV Holiday Happenings

Toys, volunteers, field trips, luncheons, and parties; It’s been such a busy couple of months at MSV, no one could be expected to keep up with all the events that have taken place at Marillac House and St. Vincent's. As we approach the peak of the holiday rush, we decided to compile a little guide, full of photos and captions, to let you see all of the joyous holiday happenings around the Centers!

Giving Tuesday

November 28, 2017

Marillac St. Vincent is pleased to announce the most successful Giving Tuesday campaign ever, raising over $5,000 to pay for Ventra bus and train cards for clients facing emergencies. These funds will support Community Outreach Services clients, parents working with Family Support, and various other programs on an as-needed basis. Marillac St. Vincent received 75 donations averaging $70 each from a wide range of supporters including Board members, Associate Board members, Facebook followers, and even staff! MSV is grateful that so many individuals are backing this crucial, but unbudgeted expense.

Family Engagement Ornament Making Activity

December 18, 2017

In an effort to continue to build relationships with the families we serve, our Family Support Team paired parents and children together to make popsicle stick ornaments to hang on our tree to promote family engagement. We want to support the parent/child relationship & interactions, as well as promote the children's learning and development. During each individual activity, we encourage parents to model behaviors such as communication, fine motor skills, color & shape identification, etc. This helps remind the parents of their role as the first & most important teacher to their child.
