A Year of Advocacy

We have been fighting hard for families in 2015. From tirelessly calling and writing to elected officials, organizing press conferences, appearing before the cameras on the evening news, writing letters to the editor, and networking with other providers that have been affected by this crisis, we'll stop at nothing when it comes to protecting vital services for the most vulnerable in our state

  • January 2015

Board of Trustees and MSV leadership signed letters to elected officials in Springfield. MSV participated in various advocacy efforts with Donors Forum, Illinois Partners for Human Services, Voices for Children, Illinois Action for Children, Responsible Budget Coalition.

  • February 2, 2015

MSV Chief Executive Bart Winters sent a letter to newly elected Governor Bruce Rauner, requesting that no cuts be made to the Child Care Assistance Program and invited him to visit both MSV Centers

  • February 16, 2015

A second letter is sent to Governor Rauner, this time from the MSV Board of Trustees, requesting that no cuts be made to the Child Care Assistance Program.

  • May 13, 2015

A bus full of MSV Staff, teachers, and parents, heads down to Springfield to stand alongside other child care providers for a rally and press conference on the capitol steps.

  • June 6, 2015
