Marillac St. Vincent has joined #ILGive for #GivingTuesday. Last year, Forefront (formerly Donor's Forum) launched a statewide campaign to unite the state of Illinois in celebrating the contributions nonprofits make to increase the quality of life in our state and to promote the values of philanthropy. #ILGive is a non-partisan movement to support the charitable nonprofit communities in Illinois. The first of its kind in Illinois, the campaign helped over 600 charitable organizations raise almost $4 million from 5000 new donors on Giving Tuesday. This year, #ILGive 2016 is November 29th and the campaign goal is bold: $6 million dollars donated by Illinois residents in one day.
Our campaign this year is centered around transportation. Each year, Marillac St. Vincent distributes upwards of 600 ventra passes to families in need. That's $6,000 worth of public transportation assistance that helps clients react quickly to family emergencies, attend job interviews, hospital visits, and training/classes.
